About the Award
Children of Determination are integral and enriching members of our wonderfully diverse early years community. Along with our partners in the public and private sectors, we champion their inclusion and empower them to learn, play, and thrive alongside their peers by supporting every step of their early learning journey.
This award celebrates outstanding achievements in inclusive practices for Children of Determination in early education settings through programs that champion inclusivity, equity, and diversity from the very start of a child’s development.

Cash prize to be spent towards institution improvement initiatives
Participation
Eligibility
All public and private Early Education Institutions (e.g., nurseries) in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Submission Requirements
Your submission must include the following:
Statement of your nursery ethos for inclusion (max 50 words, score 10%).
Overview of your nursery’s inclusive practices, initiatives, interventions and/or support programs and how these have resulted in progress for Children of Determination (holistically and not just in early learning outcomes, including their starting point and where they are now). The focus should be on how the nursery, class, and/or staff adapted and developed to accommodate each child’s needs and enable progress (max 350 words, score 20%).
Outline parental and child involvement in inclusive practices (max 200 words, score 10%).
Description of your nursery’s engagement with the wider community in inclusive practices (max 200 words, score 10%).
Qualitative and/or quantitative data demonstrating progress made within the area of inclusion (max 250 words, score 40%).
Supporting documents and a video including stakeholder testimonials (not exceeding 3 minutes) to support your application. Your video will be a chance to showcase your inclusive practices in a visual and authentic way and promote them, as well as your nursery (score 10%).
