About the Award
Creating a safe and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and respected is at the heart of a thriving school community. Addressing and preventing bullying is a crucial part of this mission, requiring a proactive and comprehensive approach. This award honors the most effective and impactful anti-bullying program developed by a school, recognizing exceptional efforts to foster a culture of kindness, empathy, and respect.
The program must demonstrate tangible results in reducing bullying incidents, as well as innovative strategies for promoting positive behavior and resolving conflicts. It should engage students, staff, and the wider community in building a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where all students can learn and grow without fear.
The involvement of stakeholders, such as parents, community organizations, and external partners, will also be considered, highlighting the program’s commitment to making a lasting difference.

Participation
Eligibility
All schools in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi that implemented anti-bullying programs/initiatives, which ran for a minimum of one term with measurable outcomes.
Submission Requirements
Your submission must include the following:
Rationale for your anti-bullying program (max 100 words).
Description of your anti-bullying program highlighting goals, target group(s), success measures, summary of measures used for baseline and post-program results, including samples (max 250 words).
Demonstration of the qualitative and/or quantitative positive impact that the program has on your intended target group(s) (max 250 words).
A video, which may include stakeholder testimonials (not exceeding 3 minutes), to support your application and demonstrate how working proactively and having a shared language around anti-bullying promotes the importance of kindness, empathy, and respect in your school/community.

Standardized benchmark assessments are particularly important for Abu Dhabi because they evaluate skills that are foundational to every student’s education, their ability to engage with science and technology, and their future competitiveness in the global workforce. These assessments take place every year based on curriculum type.

All public, private and Charter Schools in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi can apply. Depending on the category, the award will apply to the school as a whole, a specific program offered within the school or an individual school staff member. Additionally, Early Education Institutions (EEIs) can now apply to the awards. The second edition of ADEK Awards now include 3 new categories for EEIs.
No. Applying for awards is free of charge.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners. Please visit the awards page on this website for more information.
For school-wide, nursery-wide, or program-based awards, the cash prize will go towards improvements at the school and nurseries. For individual awards, the winner will receive the cash prize directly.
Yes. A school, individual or program can nominate itself for any of the awards except for the Standardized Benchmark Assessment Awards.
Schools and nurseries can choose to apply for all the awards.

No. A school and nursery can only nominate an individual for one award each year.
